Computer Vision & Pattern Recognition Lab

The Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition Laboratory was established in the Computer Science Department at the University of Asia Pacific in 2018 with the aim of investigating the scientific principles related to the computer integrated vision systems, HCI interface development, and the application of pattern recognition to solve the problems of real-world importance. The emphasis of our work is on vision systems that are capable of functioning flexibly and robustly in complex changing environments.

Image and Signal Processing

The field of signal and image processing encompasses the theory and practice of algorithms and hardware that convert signals produced by artificial means into a form useful for a specific purpose.

Data Science

Data science is the study of where information comes from, what it represents and how it can be turned into a valuable resource in the creation of business and IT strategies. Subfields of Data Science are data mining, data analytics etc.

Deep learning

Deep learning (also known as deep structured learning or hierarchical learning) is part of a broader family of machine learning methods based on learning data representations, as opposed to task-specific algorithms.

Human Computer Interaction

Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) is a field of study focusing on the design of computer technology and, in particular, the interaction between humans (the users) and computers.
